  1. My enthusiasm for your manuscript is no guarantee that anyone will publish it. (Likewise if your manuscript is not my kind of thing that is no indication someone won’t publish it!) I’m also not pretending to be connected to loads of publishers and agents. I’m a writer and reader just like you are so it’s best to think of my assessment as a peer review.
  2. How you use your report to inform your writing is up to you. The value of feedback is sometimes to show us we haven’t been clear. So rather than do less of whatever it is we should defy feedback and do more of it!
  3. Feedback can be hard to digest. I’m extremely careful with how I phrase feedback but there is a risk that it won’t land with you as intended, just like when you or I write something, no matter how hard we try, we can’t control how it will be received by readers. You accept this risk when you order a service.
  4. I may turn down work submitted (for example, if it contains material I find offensive or it turns out not to be the sort of work or genre I can helpfully edit). In the unlikely event I turn down your submission I will refund what you have paid me.
  5. If I cannot meet the delivery date I give you for your report I will tell you as soon as is reasonable after I know. I cannot take any responsibility for any potential or actual consequences of a late report. If a new delivery date is not acceptable to you I will refund whatever you have paid me and that shall be the limit of my liability.
  6. If due to unforeseen circumstances such as ill health I cannot deliver your report my liability is limited to your money back.
  7. I will keep your data (contact details, manuscript, correspondence between us etc.) for as long as necessary for the purposes of providing you with a service. If you ask me to delete your data I will do so promptly notwithstanding circumstances in which law or regulation requires me to keep a record of something. I may occasionally contact you to offer you a service or to ask how you are getting along with your writing unless you ask me not to in which case I will stop immediately. I may also ask you for feedback on the service but you do not have to provide it.
  8. I will not provide your data to marketing people or organisations or to anyone else unless required to do so by law or regulation.
  9. Copyright of your manuscript remains with you at all times and I will not share any of it with anyone else unless I have your permission in advance. Copyright of my comments and your summary report remains with me though you may quote them as you like without liability to me citing MyWordpro as the source. If you have a special situation or request regarding copyright please feel free to ask me.
  10. If you are dissatisfied in any way with the service I will try my very best to rectify the situation. After all, I want you to succeed, and I want to help you to do that, and I want you to use the service again! So I have no interest in you being anything other than delighted with what I do for you. By the way, if you introduce a friend and they purchase a service you will get 20% off your next purchase.
