Developmental edit 1:
I’ll read your book as a total stranger, then mark it up with comments and provide you with a summary report.
Best for polished, near-final drafts, where you anticipate that the next stages will be minor re-writes and polishing before submitting to agents and publishers.
Cost: 1.2p per word i.e. 60,000 words costs £720, 75,000 words costs £900, 100,000 words costs £1200. Discounts available for new clients, just ask.
Developmental edit 2:
I’ll read your book, mark it up with comments and provide you with a summary report. We also get to talk first for a structured 30 mins on WhatsApp or something similar so I can understand what you are trying to achieve with your book.
In your report I’ll provide additional feedback around how well your book achieves what you want it to.
Best for well-developed drafts, when you know what you’re trying to do and want to know how close you are, prior to further rewriting.
Cost: 1.4p per word i.e. 60,000 words costs £840, 75,000 words costs £1050, 100,000 words costs £1400. Discounts available for new clients, just ask.

I’ll read your book, mark it up with comments and provide you with a summary report. We also get to talk first for a structured 60 mins on WhatsApp or something similar so I can understand what you are trying to achieve with your book and where your doubts lie about what you have so far.
In your report I’ll provide additional feedback on how well your manuscript achieves what you want it to and on other areas which we’ll agree when we talk.
Best for less well-developed drafts, when you are wondering about larger issues such as direction or style and you want help with how to approach the next rewrite. Cost: 1.7p per word i.e. 60,000 words costs £1020, 75,000 words costs £1275, 100,000 words costs £1700. Discounts available for new clients, just ask.
Other types of editing
I don’t do line-editing, copy-editing or proofreading. Those are not my areas of expertise, and are anyway best done by someone who has not seen your manuscript before.
My lead time for all work is currently about 3 weeks.
